Tradco makes the pieces a heritage home actually needs, and that most hardware ranges skip entirely.
Sash fasteners and sash lifts for double hung windows. Casement stays and fasteners. Barrel bolts, including the Victorian long throw. Spur catches, magnetic door stops, and the small brass fittings that finish a period restoration properly.
Where it earns its place
If you are working on a Federation, Victorian or Californian bungalow, this is the range that keeps the detailing honest. Modern window hardware on an original double hung sash looks wrong immediately, and Tradco is usually the fix.
It is equally useful on a new build aiming for a period feel, where the windows are modern but the hardware should not announce it.
Getting the right part
Window hardware is where most orders go wrong, because the terminology is unfamiliar and the parts are specific. A sash fastener is not a casement fastener. A base fix casement stay comes in lengths, and the wrong one will not hold the window where you want it.
Send us a photo of the window and what it needs to do and we will tell you the part. It takes a minute and saves a return.
Finishes
Solid brass and stainless across most of the range. Unlacquered brass will patina over time, which is correct for a heritage restoration and occasionally unexpected if nobody mentioned it.
Restoring a whole house?
Send us a room by room list, or photos of the windows and doors, and we will put together what you need. We do this often and we would rather get it right before it ships.
