Solid brass barrel bolts, flush bolts and long throw patterns.
Bolts do the job on doors that are not the primary opening. On a pair of french doors or double entry doors, one leaf stays shut and is held by bolts top and bottom while the other does the daily work.
Where they go
Barrel bolts surface mount and are the straightforward option. Flush bolts are morticed into the edge of the door and disappear when not in use, which is the neater result on a visible door.
Long throw patterns reach further into the frame or floor and hold a taller door more securely.
On a double door
Bolt the inactive leaf top and bottom. The active leaf then latches into the inactive one rather than into the frame. Tell us the door height and we will confirm the throw you need.
